I started a card-making course at work last week. My ‘students’ had a ton of fun and so did I.

We went through die-cutting using the sizzix big-shot and touched briefly on different types of ink and their pros / cons. I don’t think they quite understood the idea behind colouring stamps, so I’ll bring an example or two for next session which is tomorrow. I’m so excited!!

This time it’s going to be better prepared. I put my available dies on pinterest so that everybody could request the tools they’d like to use because I got some requests for other dies last week and I put up an additional board for my previous works if somebody needed examples or technique references. I’m also in the middle of designing yet another card for someone who’s leaving the office so I’ll use that card as an example of what work in progress  looks like and what can be design concerns.

I think this time I’ll bring along a few embossing folders.

So in a list:

  • embossing folders
  • coloring stamps
  • design concerns

Yup, that’s enough for a 2 hour session.
