Sometimes I find these beautiful details on my background papers that are inconveniently located, as they are just in the spot where I wanted to put my photo. So here’s a workaround that will work for certain types of details: Cut it out to overlap the picture. This way the details gets more attention and you get a nice corner for your photo.

As you can see in the photo below: the fish is part of the printing on the paper, but I’ve cut into it so that I may insert a photo under it. I didn’t cut out the whole fish, so it’s still attached to the paper, the cutting is only done where the photo is. I like how it makes the fish ‘swim out of the paper’.
