Circuit NewsForget what I said about "up and running" a few months ago. I've been so busy in the real world I haven't had time to update the store or anything. And it's a good thing I didn't do that because if I can't even update the store, how would I be able to take care of any customers, ah?
Aside from that I've finally put on the new pictures. It only took me half a year. Bah!.
During my visit to Sweden in october 2008 I did an interview for Judisk Krönika (it roughly translates to Jewish Chronicle) which has now been published (in Swedish). The interview is about what it's like to live in Israel as a non-jewish person and thus not very relevant to circuits, but you can download it as pdf here or visit their website and read far more interesting articles at www.JudiskKronika.se.

Last night I finished processing the pictures from the new collection. If you go to the wearables section now you will find two new groups of jewelry: Secret Window and Frogs. I also added some new jewelry in the Classic Circuits and Casual Circuits.
As the trainstation next to konst och kakor is still closed for renovation and it is difficult to reach the gallery I've decided to not put my new collection there, but there are still some pieces left from the old one.
Instead of going for a real gallery I've decided to open an etsy store online. It will be up and running in a couple of days, thus providing those of you interested in the jewelry with a safe and easy way to pay: paypal.

The new collection is finished. Soon I will put up photos of items with exciting names such as "secret window" and "the frog prince", I just need to provide my very talented photographer with better lighting conditions.

An old classmate (whom I haven't seen since 2000) had been at the konst och kakor exhibition and found me on facebook afterwards. She said she liked the jewelry. I was flattered. It's good to know that the little things can still make me happy.
Oh, and on a side note: I finished the best painting I've ever made.

I'm currently planning some new jewelry to hang at the gallery "Konst och Kakor". They've had my stuff exposed for a few months now, and I thought it's time to give them some new materials. As they're closing for the summer, I figured I'd get the new stuff out there for the re-opening on the 9th of August. The gallery is located outside of Täby, Sweden and is open Monday to Sunday. They're only closing on the 20th of June, so you will still have time to see the current stuff if you hurry.

If you want to see more circuit art I warmly recommend that you also pay a visit to Beate Pytz's digital gallery to see her wonderful framed computer art for hanging on the wall. I like them because they have a dry sense of humour.

HTML-log

HTML UpdatesDuring a visit to another computer which was running IE6, I realized that the pre IE7 browsers don't know how to handle transparent png-files. This is of course putting my philosophy of not designing for a specific browser in a tough spot, but I just don't see myself going back to gif-files because of old browser shortcomings, now that people can easily make their surfing experience more enjoyable by using IE7. If IE browsers at all hadn't supported png files, this would of course be a different matter.

There's now a contact form for those who don't want to go through all the trouble of pulling up their mailing programs in order to get in touch with me.

Allright, now it's officially online. Yey!

All pages were validated. Puh!
I decided to re-make the menu on the left. The words were too unevenly spaced for my taste. Now they're spaced, and aligned to the left (as opposed to the previous center alignment).
The "processes" button was removed and replaced with an "about" button. I thought in the early stages of the re-make that I would write about the jewelry making processes, but I don't think there's much interest in that. Instead I put in a few infos for those interested in owning a piece of circuit jewelry in the about-section. Unusually business-like of me.

I did html-validation at w3.org yesterday. I'm taking measures to ensure that all these pages will be "HTML 4.01 transitional" compliant. I like standards, but I don't expect them to solve any of my problems. The validity check did solve a really big one though: so far the layout in IE7 had been aligned to the left side of the screen, but after the validity check it was centered.
Additionally I've found a solution to the layout problem in the galleries. Now I'm just going to re-do the images.

Still working out the kinks with the collection displays. I don't know how to present the thumbnails. Oh well, after all there are people out there with bigger problems... like java-scripts.

Now I've the "frame" of the new design and I feel good about the way it looks. The new colours feel refreshing and I must say that I'm proud of doing this site in layers instead of using tables for layout. Credits are due to csszengarden.com for inspiring me.
